Paul & Virginie were lovers. When Virginie drowned on the sailing ship Saint Geran off the North East Coast during a cyclone, Paul was so devastated that he died shortly thereafter of a broken heart.

The story of these star crossed lovers was immortalised by JH Bernardin de Sainte-Pierre in 1787 and has become a definition of true love. And so has Veranda Paul & Virginie. Dotted with sun beds, love nests and hammocks this adult only resort is a romantic hideaway for two.

These lovely rooms, adorned with pale wood and a tinge of orange and sea views are equipped with a private balcony or terrace surveying the bluest lagoon, offering serenity and privacy.

51 Superior Rooms (Size: 32 m2 –  38 m2)
Rooms are spacious and ideal for a couple with the welcoming and cozy atmosphere. The balcony or terrace are ideal spots for "sea gazing".

12 Privilege Rooms (Size: 42 m2)
The sea-facing rooms with wide spaces and discreet decor are conducive to long midday naps. From the balcony or terrace catch a glimpse of the blue expanse of the sea.

The hotel’s main restaurant overlooks the immaculate pool and bay, affording a stunning view of the horizon’s innumerable hues of blue. 

You will have a chance to taste the subtlety of the local flavours - spices and seasonal produce - or stick to what is comforting. 

The combination of Mauritian and international cuisine served table d’hôte or buffet style is bound to please every palate.

Le Saint Géran

The beach bar and restaurant, Le Saint Géran (named after the shipwreck made famous by Bernardin de St. Pierre who wrote a novel around it)-, is located at under a thatch roof at the end of the jetty overlooking the lagoon. This seaside restaurant has an aura of mystique, which is somewhat enhanced come nightfall.

Open for Lunch (12h00 – 15h00) and Dinner (19h00 – 22h00).

Poudre d’Or Bar

An elegant décor and unblemished views of the Grand Gaube lagoon - one of the island’s largest - make the Poudre d’Or the perfect place for a mid-afternoon break. Indulge in a coffee, a cocktail or an after-dinner liquor at the bar. For a late afternoon pick-me-up, opt for savoury snacks or crêpes. Come evening, a laid-back island ambiance settles in with live music and shows.

VERANDA CATAMARAN
